Poker chip has a certain weight, and it simplifies the procedure of counting chips if the amount of them is very big. It is interesting to note that some casinos accept poker chips of other casinos, but it is not a widely used practice. Poker chips of different colors are used in different casinos and each color has a special meaning determining the value of chips.

So, casino chips represent the part of the very atmosphere of a casino and that's why some lovers of poker collect poker chips. It is a kind of hobby. Some casinos produce special gift sets of chips and card decks with the emblem of the casino.
